Have you ever noticed the contagious nature of laughter? Think back to a time when someone near you started laughing out loud, and without knowing why they were laughing, you joined in. Like a wave, you felt the laughter roll through you and fill you with the joy that comes from laughing.
Creativity has a similar effect on people. When you give your creative thinking a voice, in its purest form, it resonates with the creative spirit in others. They are given permission on an unconscious level to think and act creatively. A word of caution: creativity is often met with resistance at first. A creative thought may disrupt a predetermined order of thinking. So, be gentle when contributing a creative thought, and persistent!
The first time you offer up a creative idea doesn’t need to be the last. Find a new way to present it, a new audience or present it at a different time. But keep those creative thoughts coming. Eventually, they will catch on and your creativity will inspire others to risk thinking beyond predetermined & routine ideas and laugh out loud!
